Jaymie Lyn Bennett Obituary (2001 - 2024)

Jaymie Bennett, a beacon of love and joy, left this world on January 8, 2024, at the age of 22. Jaymie was born April 20, 2001, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to parents Kristina Lynn McDonald Bennett, and James Eric Bennett (stepmother Jackie Bennett). She is preceded in death by grandparents Marlene and Delbert (Pudge) McDonald and Lois (Jean) and David Prysock. Her final moments were spent in Charleston, West Virginia, surrounded by the love of her family. Jaymie grew up in a lively household, filled with the warmth and support of her family. She was a cherished sister to Ashley Johnson (and former spouse Shawn Woody), Emily Larue (Ralph Larue) and Ciara Demasi (Nathan Demasi) and will also live on in the heart of her special friend Ronald "Buddy" Boyer., and her beloved dog Malaya, aka May, who she adored. Jaymie's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her 12 nieces and nephews: Ashlyn, Isabella, and Shawn Woody, Silas and Cason Colebank, Devin Thomas, Cameron, Rylan, and Gannon Larue, and Aubrielle, Elliana, and Nathan Demasi, who adored their Aunt Jaymie for her playful nature and endless affection. Her presence could light up the darkest of rooms, and her laughter was a melody that resonated with the souls of those fortunate enough to hear it. Family was everything to Jaymie. In reflecting on Jaymie's life, the words of Helen Keller resonate deeply: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." As we bid farewell to Jaymie Bennett, we celebrate a life lived with unwavering love and boundless humor. Though her time with us was far too short, the memories she created will be cherished forever. Jaymie's spirit, now free, lives on in the hearts of those she touched, reminding us all to approach life with the same loving kindness that she embodied every day. Friends may join the family to honor Jaymie's life and legacy at Nicholson Chapel Church, 1346 Summers School Rd., Morgantown on Wednesday, January 10th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, and on Thursday, January 11th from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Following the visitation on Thursday, a private funeral service will be held for the immediate family, followed by interment at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
