Celot Jay Carr, Jr. Obituary (1976 - 2023)

Celot Jay Carr, Jr., known to us as "Hafeeth," has danced his final dance, Away from Washington, DC, his birthplace, he took his last glance. Born on a crisp autumn day, the 24th of October, 1976 he came into this world, A life of creativity, passion, and faith, before us, was unfurled. In Bruceton Mills, WV, on the 4th of November, 2023, he drew his last breath, But his spirit lives on in our hearts, transcending even death. Survived by his wife, Safiya Carr, and siblings three, Shavon Walker, Jennifer Brown, and Celot Jay Carr, III, make up the family tree. His mother and five children, awaited him in death, but remained with him through life and to when he took his final breath. Nieces and nephews and cousins aplenty remember his warm, loving smile, And the joy he brought to their lives, making every moment worthwhile. From the halls of his high school to the University of District of Columbia's space, He pursued his passion for graphic design, leaving beauty in his trace. At Olive Garden, he was known for his skill with a pan, And his love for the culinary arts made him a beloved man. A talented artist, he drew with a spirit free, His canvas was life, and his art, a sight to see. He found great joy in the game, his laughter was our delight, His faith-filled heart and creative soul made him our guiding light. A man of passion and grace, he filled our lives with cheer, And even now, in his absence, we feel his presence near. Hafeeth, our dear Celot, your journey on earth is done, But your spirit, your joy, your love, has the hearts of everyone. As we say our final goodbyes, we remember all you were, A beacon, a comfort, a joy, wrapped up in laughter's purr. Your life was a masterpiece, a work of art so grand, And we were blessed to witness it, to hold your warm hand. You've left your imprint on us all, a legacy of love, As you watch over us, from your new home above. So, here's to Celot Jay Carr, Jr., Hafeeth, our shining star, Your memory will forever be with us, no matter where we are. In the canvas of our hearts, your strokes of love remain, And in the echoes of our laughter, we'll hear your voice again. A Janazah Prayer will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 Morgantown Islamic Center, 434 Harding Ave., Morgantown and interment will take place in the Morgantown Islamic Center Cemetery.
