Edward "Ed" Williams Obituary (1948

Edward "Ed" Williams, 73, of Richwood, WV, passed away Monday, July 11th, 2022 at WVU Medicine - JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. In the eyes of the state, Ed was born November 24th, 1948 in at home in Rupert. However, his actual birthday was November 4, 1948, a son of the late John Richard "Dick" Williams and the late Reva Allman Williams. Ed is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Jane Rosile Williams; two children, Zach and his wife Meredith Williams of Westover, and Lindsay Williams and her fianc Nick Griffith of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers Ronald Ray and wife Betty Jo Williams of Pence Springs, WV, and Richard Gray and wife Sandra Williams of Phoenix, AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ed was an avid runner and gardener and was a technology buff. He had an awesome sense of humor, but maintained a quiet demeanor. He enjoyed going to the movies with his wife, and going for Jeep rides. He also enjoyed cooking. Ed was a very devoted family man and always put his family first. He set a great example for his children being more of a progressive husband who wasn't afraid to do anything and everything around the house that needed done. Ed's career spanned 42 years in the Nicholas County School System. He worked his entire career at Richwood High School as a Librarian / Media Specialist. He also served as the school's athletic director for approximately the last 10 years of his tenure. Ed's request to be cremated is being honored by his family. A service to celebrate his life and legacy will be planned at a later date.
